What is the Scottish Hajj & Umrah Trust?
The Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust is an independent Scottish charity registered in 2012 that provides a full range of government aligned services to address the healthcare, safety, and fraud related risks associated with Hajj. This Scotland-wide community initiative will ultimately enhance the pilgrim experience of all Scottish Muslims.
Who is the Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust for?
The Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust’s services will cater for all Scottish pilgrims. It will also benefit travel agents, and healthcare services and Ministries at home and abroad.
What services does the Trust provide?
For Hajj 2015, the Trust has launched the iMbrace, the first phase of the development of an innovative medical wristband solution that forms an intrinsic part of the Trust’s personal travel healthcare services for pilgrims.
The Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust will provide a full range of services by Hajj 2016 Insha’Allah.
Are the services free?
Yes. All registered pilgrims will have access to:
- Free medical consultation, diagnosis, and issuance of prescriptions by the Trust’s personal NHS certified travel doctors.
- Free bi-lingual personal service whereby local experts will assist you to the nearest medical centres.
- Free bi-lingual 24/7 support line
What Governmental bodies are involved in the Trust and what is their role in the Trust?
The Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust is in communication with the Scottish Government and Authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Will pilgrim information be kept secure?
In compliance with the Data Protection Act, all medical information will remain strictly confidential and will only be visible to NHS registered doctors and the Trust’s Medical Support Officers.

What is the purpose of the iMbrace medical wristband?
To allow the Trust’s NHS registered GPs quick access to pilgrims’ medical records in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ensuring that they can provide timely on the ground, personal medical advice and support to all Scottish pilgrims on every stage of their journey.
What age range is the iMbrace medical wristband for?
The iMbrace medical wristband is suitable for all age groups, from young adults (18+) to the elderly.
What information is stored on the iMbrace medical wristband?
The pilgrim’s personal health and travel data.
Can I destroy the iMbrace medical wristband and information after Hajj?
Information will be stored in the Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust database. This will be accessible only the Medical Support Officers and NHS registered GPs.
However, if you wish to be removed from the database you can contact the Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust on 0141 280 8111 or at firstname.lastname@example.org and speak to one of our Medical Support Officers who can then remove your details from the system.
Does the iMbrace medical wristband cause any skin irritation?
The iMbrace medical wristband has been tried and tested and has not proven to cause skin irritation.
Can I get an iMbrace medical wristband if I lose mine?
The Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust Medical Support Officers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be able to provide a replacement iMbrace medical wristband if you lose yours.
You can contact a Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust Medical Support Officer on (+966) 0581006700 (while on Hajj) or on 0141 280 8111 in Scotland and request a new iMbrace medical wristband.
Your medical and travel information is stored in your unique ID number so losing your wristband does not mean your information can be seen by others.
Will my information on the iMbrace medical wristband be kept secure?
Yes. In compliance with the Data Protection Act, all medical information will remain strictly confidential and will only be visible to NHS registered doctors and the Trust’s Medical Support Officers.
