OUR SERVICES

Working with the Scottish Government and the NHS Scotland, the Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust have launched the first phase of the development of an innovative medical wristband solution – iMbrace – that forms an intrinsic part of its pilgrim personal travel health service. iMbrace will securely contain each pilgrim’s unique health and travel data, allowing authorised NHS certified GPs to rapidly access patients’ medical records on location in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to provide timely, on the ground personal medical advice and support to all Scottish pilgrims on every stage of their journey.

The iMbrace medical wristband is a journey towards an advanced link between wearable technology and a suite of personalised healthcare services for the 21st century pilgrim. The solution will be further developed for a full range of Hajj and Umrah services to be launched in 2016.

In compliance with the Data Protection Act, all medical information will remain strictly confidential and will only be visible to NHS registered doctors and the Trust’s Medical Support Officers.

Pilgrim registration is now closed and will reopen for Hajj 2016.

The Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust will work together with travel agents throughout Scotland. Travel agents can register their interest with the Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust on the website www.scottishhajjtrust.org or by contacting SHUT directly at info@scottishhajjtrust.org or on 0141 2808 111.

One of the Trust’s ‘Medical Support Officers’ will then contact the travel agent directly and register them online. Once the travel agent has been verified by the Trust, the agent will receive an approval email with unique log in details.

Approved travel agents will receive an introduction package and training, offering guidance on how to use Scottish Hajj and Umrah software and register pilgrims wishing to undertake the holy journey of Hajj. When pilgrims sign up for Hajj, they will be offered the opportunity to register with the Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust at the same time.

The iMbrace medical wristbands containing pilgrims’ health and travel data will be included in the pilgrim packages distributed by the travel agent.

All Scottish pilgrims wishing to register with Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust and receive their personal iMbrace medical wristband allowing them to utilise the free services on offer can do so through various avenues:

  1. Through Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust verified travel agents when signing up to Hajj.
  2. Through www.scottishhajjtrust.org under ‘Register your Interest’.
  3. Through contacting  the Scottish Hajj and Umrah Trust directly at info@scottishhajjtrust.org or on 0141 280 8111 where a Medical Support Officer will register you.

In compliance with the Data Protection Act, all medical information will remain strictly confidential and will only be visible to NHS registered doctors and the Trust’s Medical Support Officers.
